DEMENTIA SUPPPORT
A Charity Supporting Local People Living with Dementia
I have worked with Dementia Support on a variety of projects, including adapting their brand identity to be more accessible, creating designs for new and ongoing fundraising campaigns, and creating print and digital media for various events and campaigns.

Logo Updates
Dementia Support were having an issue with their original logo (not designed by me), it was too small. In a lot of use cases a logo has to be pretty small, like on the website, t-shirts, or business cards, so that small text can easily get tricky to read, especially when you consider the main demographics for the charity are elderly people and living with dementia.

The charity were still keen to keep the same logomark and typeface, as this was integrated into their brand identity across their website, social media, print media, and staff uniforms. Plus, they have developed great brand recognition with their orange butterfly, so to remove or change it completely would mean starting again.

With these problems in mind, I came up with a few different designs that put the name at the forefront of the branding, and let the butterfly act as an extra detail rather than the focal point. Below, you can see the original branding and the final updated version selected by the charity.

Fundraising Campaign - Santa Slide

For established, long-running campaigns, the charity prefer to base their marketing around images from the fundraising events for each campaign, but in 2025 Santa Slide is a new fundraising initiative so we didn’t have any images to work with, making this campaign entirely graphics based.

The starting point was with the charity’s regular branding, as this had to be in keeping with the established style. I used Filson Soft Medium for this, the same typeface in the main logo but in a lighter weight. This means the Santa Slide assets are clearly part of the charity, and not an external event.

And that extends to the colour palette too, the colours of the Santa hat and 4-point-stars have been taken from the butterfly logo, this has the added benefit of not having to outline the section of that hat that would usually be depicted as white, because it still stands out enough on white backgrounds.

This graphic was implemented into assets for the website, social media, and email footers for staff at the charity.
